Honey Properties
We stock local Windsor honey. Delicious when used in cooking ( especially on ribs ) and a more natural form of sweetness than processed sugar.
This has led to a remarkable number of health improvements. Dave read an article on hay fever suggesting local honey could help the condition. He has had chronic hay fever for years and was injected and medicated much of which was ineffective so figured honey couldn't make it worse. The premise was that the pollen used to make honey can give you an immunity to the plants that affect you ( didn't believe a word of it but whatever !) Honey does however have proven antiseptic qualities. Dave takes one teaspoon of honey every day and has no hay fever at all. It can be taken in warm drinks if you dislike the taste but not boiling ones as this destroys the effectiveness.
A one off experience we thought but friends and customers commented on their hayfever and asthma and reluctantly we offered Dave's solution as we thought it rather cranky, but surprisingly most of them have had brilliant results themselves. One lady was so ill she was on weekly injections and is now completely fine, as you can imagine she is evangelical about honey. Some other people have had minor or no improvement, we presume it depends on your allergy. Eczema sufferers reported an improvement in their condition as a by product of taking honey for hayfever.
What we say is "try it", any local honey not just ours, how can it hurt? It is certainly cheaper than prescriptions and over the counter remedies.
Good news we have local customers who have all started bee keeping and have promised to sell us their surplus honey,
